Time to Write the Blog..... (Newport, RI to Bellingham, MA)

It's 2 am Saturday night....most people are in bed (including my husband and Sunshine); Rayne and I are up writing this blog.... vacation????......

This morning started off a little better... HOT water!!! My lips are sealed otherwise, I can't risk jinxing us too soon!!! Our first stop of the day (besides a cup of coffee...someone has to write this blog...) was the Cliff Walk in Newport, RI....yes, my cross-fit friends, we do try to exercise because if not, we are going to need BIGGER clothes when we get back (although, for the record, someone bought a new sleeping shirt today....)!!! This was a great walk along the cliff-sides of some beautiful mansions....(hint: if you aren't going to keep the marriage, get off here!!!) Then we took a drive-by along Bellevue Avenue, saw the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and several homes that I'm going to need another 5 jobs to get......

(Can we please go home???)

House for sale?????....... (if only we knew a good real estate agent....and divorce atty...lol!!!)

Who has the time or energy for tennis???

Fort Adams was next on our list....they were having some sort of festival that included dogs so we checked out the festival instead of the fort (the tour didn't start for an hour, and, Chris is still my husband, so this was just too long to "see yet another fort".....) Unfortunately, because I did want to check it out, we ended up looping it and adding another few miles to our trip.... I can truly say I was exhausted and hungry at this stage of the game and I think the dogs think we are trying to kill them.....

We quickly headed into town and had a bite at the Brick Alley Pub....my eyes were bigger than my stomach so not only did I get a BBQ pork sandwich, but insisted on spinach and artichoke dip as well....(needless to say, I've eaten my left overs for dinner so far because I'm just not hungry enough for dinner!!!)

Then we headed across the Pell Bridge (funny, on our way here it was $6 because we were in an RV and included dog treats and on the way back in was $4 and no dog treats....our RV people told us we can't use EZ pass because some states want more money for RV's....love our government!!!) and headed into Jamestown to see the Beavertail Lighthouse and Old Jamestown Windmill, before we headed out of town to Providence, RI.....

Providence to Chris was like the movie Groundhog's Day....if you ask him about Roger Williams Park or the big blue bug, he may just lose it!!! We first headed to this Roger Williams Park because I read you could get some good photos here.... someone (not me, but someone) put the wrong address in Garmin and we ended up in a slightly more colorful neighborhood.....and soon the park was becoming a bad idea in someone's head....luckily, I quickly remedied the situation and found us the park!!!  It was a beautiful park (reminded me of the park I wanted to get married in in Pittsburgh...) and there were several wedding photos taking place as well.... Chris said he was "all pictured out" but he persevered........Once the camera battery started to die (our extra camera battery and charger did not make the cut for the crates...) it was soon time to go......

Chris wants to know why we have to drive our of our way to see a lighthouse when I can get great photos as we drive by........

Providence, RI

(the first time we passed it...)

The beginning of the park......

(Before sunshine....)

("pictured out...")

Next we headed to take a photo of the State House (and happened to pass the big blue bug again....this time it did not cause us to miss our exit...oops!!) and did a drive-by through Brown (much better than Yale)

Downtown Providence had a great atmosphere...wanted to see the water-fires but missed them by a week.....so instead we navigated these crazy little streets and fueled up.....(because this takes awhile, and it was only 5:30, I happened to look at what was going on in Providence and found that the Roger Williams Park was having this pumpkin festival......).....so, after a little bit of constructive talking we headed back to the park (passing the big blue bug again...) but this time found that everyone in RI was also going there....it was crazy people and traffic....like las vegas on the 4th of july...and we are the only crazy ones in an RV!!! as we were pulling in the cop motioned to us and said, "those streets are pretty narrow, don't know if you can make it"....Chris said, "I have been here a few times today", to which the cop nodded and off we went.... "it takes 2 hours from here to see the pumpkins"....yep....2 hours.....but they were amazing and well worth the wait (they had 5000 pumpkins displayed and use at least 20,000 pumpkins during the festival)!!! Have to say that even Chris enjoyed it and other than the beach with the dogs, my next favorite thing to do!!!  These photos below do not do them justice.....
