Our day started out at Liberty Ridge Farms outside of Albany, NY.....today we finally got to do a corn maze!!! (and I learned that corn mazes aren't always so easy to navigate...)
mooooooo
we got upgraded parking for good oral hygiene!!!
and found someone horsing around....
this pumpkin maze was the easiest!!!
This game was harder...but someone was victorious!!!
time for the maze...
We played a trivia game to help us get through the maze...we chose Halloween Trivia...and learned that we weren't so good at it....so we ended up in the maze for awhile......
we headed over this bridge...
still not out.....
I think we may be stuck.....
we are free!!!
look at these cute pigs!!!
baaaaaaaa
I think I'm really still a kid!!!
Ok, it was time to head to Albany.....and if you know Chris, it was time to get going.....but.....
this is us in the RV passing a roadblock.....
almost there...
protestors against fracking....a lot of them.....roadblock....
downtown Albany
the "egg"
The capital building
Lunch at the Iron Gate Cafe....they needed bars in this section of town.... (but the food was great!)
someone even tied up the dog while we were here....
Next stop was Washington Park...it's like a mini-version of Central Park...can't believe this but we are back to Autumn again...the leaves were awesome!!!
some frolicking in the leaves...
One last stop before heading to NJ to return the RV...to see the USS Slater.....but first (and by this point Chris is getting a little more ansy....he said "these parks are a little like going to Germany....you see one castle, you see them all"...this time, though, no staying on the bus.....) we had one more road block before getting there....Chris was a little unhappy.....
The USS Slater is the only remaining surviving destroyer escorts still in its World War II configuration....
come aboard.....
this ship had all sorts of guns....
this could do some serious destruction....
those green things on the "beds" are body bags...yep...really....
the captain's quarters
the party is over....its really time to go home....
did someone say home??????
yep, here we go.....
our last sunset....
Final Thoughts on the Journey:
"I'm so glad we live in a world where there are Octobers" L. M. Montgomery
"Whomever said that diamonds are a girl's best friend.....Never owned a dog."
"Everything we see depends on how we look at it" K. Mayer
We both hope you all enjoyed our tour of New England...(It is so sad that it is over, but I can guarantee you that Sunny and Rayne are so happy to be NOT moving!!!) Its amazing how two weeks can past by faster than a blink of eye and we even had to look back at it all in order to remember our favorites.....
